PROGRAM GOALS

Our school will provide experiences for development and progress toward the following goals:

Spiritual

  1. Know God is the creator of all things
  2. Know the Bible is God’s Word
  3. Know Jesus is God’s Son, He died for us and rose again
  4. Learn that daily prayer is important communication with God
  5. Learn Godly character through stories and experiences

Social/Emotional

  1. Parent/child separate easily
  2. Children develop self-help skills
  3. Children interact with peers/develop relationships
  4. Children learn about themselves, their family and their culture
  5. Provide experiences for success and competence to develop self confidence
  6. Children to see themselves as God’s precious creation

3 Year Olds

Fine/Gross Motor

  1. Develop and strengthen eye/hand coordination
  2. Introduce scissor skills
  3. Manipulate a variety of writing and painting tools
  4. Develop skills of balancing, running, climbing and throwing

Literacy

  1. Exposure to a wide variety of literature
  2. Develop oral skills through interaction with peers and adults
  3. Introduce rhyming words

Academic

  1. Recognize shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle)
  2. Recognize colors
  3. Introduce prewriting skills
  4. Introduce matching, sorting and premathmatic concepts
  5. Introduce name recognition
  6. Count to 10

For Prekindergarten

Fine/Gross Motor

  1. Develop and strengthen eye/hand coordination
  2. Strengthen scissor skills/cut simple shapes
  3. Manipulate a variety of writing and painting tools
  4. Write name correctly using upper and lowercase letters
  5. Copy simple shapes
  6. Develop skills of balancing, running, climbing and throwing

 Literacy

  1. Exposure to a wide variety of literature
  2. Develop oral language skills
  3. Recognize rhyming words
  4. Recognize upper and lowercase alphabet
  5. Recognize beginning phonetic sounds

Academic

  1. Recognize shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, diamond, hexagon)
  2. Recognize sizes and positions
  3. Develop sorting and matching skills
  4. Recognize colors (red, blue, purple, green, yellow, brown, orange, black)
  5. Count to 25

For Transitional Kindergarten
